Rod Middleton brings over 15 years of extensive experience to the realm of basketball, specializing in coaching, strength training, and player development. His journey in player development began in 2006, during the off-season of his professional playing career, where he actively engaged in refining the skills of aspiring athletes.
Upon concluding his playing career, Rod committed himself to furthering his expertise by becoming a certified strength coach in 2013 through the esteemed National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). This certification underscores his dedication to providing comprehensive support to the athletes under his tutelage.
Rod’s basketball journey began at Marian Catholic High School, where he was a standout player for four years. At Buffalo, he emerged as a key player, securing a three-year starter position and contributing significantly to the team's success from 2002 to 2006.
Rod's professional basketball journey took him across continents, where he competed in France (ProA & B), Germany (ProA), and England (BBL) for a duration of two years. These experiences not only enhanced his skills but also provided invaluable insights into the global landscape of the sport.
In 2017, alongside his longtime friend and business partner Tony Watson, Rod and Tony took a monumental step by establishing the first physical location of Pro Training Basketball.
